Ballot Propositions
On Nov. 3, Californians will vote on 14 statewide ballot measures on environment, taxation, election, housing and healthcare.
For months, interest groups sponsoring ballot initiatives spent heavily on ad blitzes and signature gathering to get on the ballot, but some agreed to withdraw high-profile proposals after striking deals with state leaders or other interest groups this week, ahead of Thursday’s deadline to finalize the November ballot.
Rideshare giant Uber and the state’s trial lawyers pulled rival measures in a deal with state lawmakers and healthcare labor unions and the California Hospital Association agreed to pull two measures that would have capped hospital executive pay and restricted spending by healthcare unions.

Measure Q Overview
San Bernardino Mountains Community Hospital District Measure Q is on the November 3, 2026 ballot.
*Type: Property tax levy / hospital bond measure
*Threshold: Requires a two-thirds majority (66.67%) to pass
*Tax Rate: $25 per $100,000 of assessed property value
Why It Is On The Ballot
*Facility Upgrades: Funds ongoing modernization and mandatory seismic retrofits for the 75-year-old hospital campus.
*Project Scope: Supports a $72 million construction plan including a new emergency department, a new acute care wing, and a skilled nursing expansion.
*Funding Gap: Changes to Medi-Cal funding are projected to cut annual revenue by about $4 million, creating a shortfall in repaying a $48.5 million low-interest USDA construction loan.
Vote Options
"Yes" Vote: Approves levying the property tax at $25 per $100,000 of assessed value to help finance and repay renovations for Mountains Community Hospital.
"No" Vote: Opposes the property tax levy.
