We’re kicking off the evening with a special comedy performance!
Janeva Zentz will be doing the first run of her brand-new solo show, JanevaDotCom — a 30-minute mix of stand-up and character work.
She’ll be joined by comedian and mental health advocate Carissa Gomez, who will kick things off with a 15-minute stand-up set.
About JanevaDotCom:
In a world where AI is taking over, a comedian buckles under the pressure and uses a bot avatar to perform her first stand-up comedy special. The straightforward special devolves into a showdown between the bot avatar and the human operator as they compete for control. Expect a biting critique of our meta-modern era and a cautionary tale to inspire civic engagement.
Janeva Zentz is a Guatemalan-American comedian, writer, and actor born and raised in Los Angeles. Her credits include Laugh After Dark in Las Vegas, along with performances at The Comedy Store, The Ice House, Flappers, Chatterbox, and more. She is also the creator and producer of First Dibs Comedy, the popular monthly comedy show in Lake Arrowhead.
Carissa Gomez is a stand-up comedian, mental health advocate, and producer of the mental health podcast It’s Gonna be OKAY. She uses humor to explore her lived experience with schizophrenia and the myths, stigma, and challenges surrounding mental health and the healthcare system.
