Women’s Day Rally

Women’s March Success

Did you know International Women’s Day is an official holiday in more than 20 countries? Cuba, Russia, Ukraine, Burkina Faso and Afghanistan are among the nations that celebrate the achievements of women as well as calling for positive change. After breakfast at the Crestline Cafe, our mountain community welcomed about 55 participants throughout the day who enjoyed goodie bags with whistles, bubbles, stickers and bracelets.  We were excited to be joined by a group of punk rock tourists from Chile and some Goodwin’s shoppers who spontaneously joined the rally, music and dancing. Participants had a lively yet respectful debate with two prolife young men who even joined in the cheering of our sisterhood. A highlight of the day was an inspirational speech by Wendy McEntyre. It was a celebration of our achievements while recognizing lost gains we have made over the past century. We are especially grateful to Laura and Laurie for organizing the day, and cheers to Mark, Henry, John and “Dump Trump” guy for supporting the ladies!
