FIGHT BACK AGAINST CORPORATE MEDIA’S ATTEMPT TO SUCK UP TO TRUMP

You can make a difference!
Because of Jimmy Kimmel’s mild critique of the MAGA response to the assassination of Charlie Kirk, ABC, a division of Disney, canceled his show indefinitely, but due to the massive backlash from consumers canceling subscriptions to Disney+ and Hulu (almost $4 billion in lost revenue, by some accounts), Kimmel was reinstated this past Tuesday. However, Nexstar and Sinclair station groups, which control many ABC affiliates across the US, are still refusing to air Kimmel’s show, mainly because both companies’ executives are extremely right-wing. So, what can you do?
1. (This action already was a success! Kimmel is back.) Cancel your Disney+ and Hulu subscriptions. When you are asked for the reason for cancellation, select “Other.” You can then type in the box your reason, such as “you bent the knee to fascism and attempted to silence free speech.”

NOW
2. Support PBS instead, as they need our help more than ever. For just $5 a month, you
can have streaming access to their entire library of programming. Go to PBS SoCal Click HERE
3. Let advertisers know you won’t support them if they continue to advertise on Nexstar
or Sinclair-owned stations. The only station in our area like that is KTLA, which is an
affiliate of The CW (not ABC), but is Nexstar owned.
a. Watch the news on KTLA and write down the names of local advertisers. Why
the news? Because that is the most expensive programming in which to
advertise.
b. Google the phone numbers and/or addresses of these advertisers.
c. Call, or even better, write a letter to the advertisers and let them know you will
not do business with them as long as they continue to advertise on KTLA. Be
polite but firm. A sample script and/or letter is below, but feel free to elaborate
or use your own words.

Dear [advertiser]—
I am a concerned American that cares about democracy and free speech. I see that you
advertise on KTLA, a station owned by Nexstar, one of the station groups that is still actively
silencing the speech of Jimmy Kimmel nationwide. They are doing so in a corrupt attempt to
placate the Trump administration in order to secure a hoped-for merger with Tegna, and they
are willing to sell out fundamental American values just to get rich. There are many other
stations in the L.A. market on which you can advertise, so as long as you continue to air your
commercials on KTLA, I will no longer do business with you, and will encourage all my friends and neighbors to boycott you as well. However, if you publicly denounce what Nexstar is doing, and stop advertising on KTLA, I will be happy to do business with you again.
Thank you for your consideration, and I strongly encourage you to do the right thing.
Sincerely,
[Your name and phone number]

Great news! The haters canceled! Best outcome ever! Once the bullies saw she wasn’t easy prey they backed down. Please continue to support this business….when I spoke to the owner yesterday she was practically in tears. I think her knowing she is not alone was comforting. Thank you all for your amazing humanity.  Together we make a difference.  Holiday

Hello Members,

We just received some disturbing information and I wanted to share what I know.

About: https://sistermysisterbakeshop.com/

The owner of Sister My Sister Bake Shop (Big Bear) is being targeted for “Free Speech”.  As I would hope that our fellow Dems would support us if we were ever targeted ….I am asking we support this Business and family. I am concerned about the counter protest being heated since as you can see below the bad actors look radicalized, however I am giving you the info I received.

I would also like to recommend another way of supporting them would be to place an order and future orders or stop the shop for a bite when in Big Bear.  Maybe call them or email them, they have your support.

What I am told: Her bakery is being boycotted by the big bear right-wingers because of her comments on Charlie Kirk.

Sign CALExit Petition

On January 23, 2025 our organization was cleared by the Secretary of State to begin collecting signatures on an official ballot proposition that will give you a vote on CALEXIT.

If enacted, this measure places the following question on November 2028 ballot: “Should California leave the United States and become a free and independent country?” If at least 50% of registered voters participate in that election, and at least 55% vote “yes”, it would constitute “a vote of no confidence in the United States of America” and “expression of the will of the people of California” to become an independent country, but would not change California’s current government or relationship with the United States. Creates commission to report on California’s viability as independent country.

My kid cousins went to the town creek and found rocks spelling out TRUMP.  They took it upon themselves to fix it!  Love this!

Jay the “jackal” ……..often refers to a person who acts like a scavenger, someone who performs menial or degrading tasks for another, or a person who collaborates in dishonest or base deeds. It can also be used to describe someone who is cunning, treacherous, or opportunistic. Essentially, it’s a term used to insult someone’s character, implying they are morally unscrupulous and willing to benefit from others’ misfortune.

Check out the comments to Jays post. Doesn’t look like he is fooling anyone.

Based on the available information, here’s a breakdown of Jay Obernolte’s votes and positions related to benefit cuts in 2025:

Well it's starting to happen...DOGE cuts and Trump tariffs are affecting our Mountain community.  We need to "educate" the Republicans THIS IS WHAT THEY VOTED for. Jobs lost, prices rising, services disappearing, small businesses closing.....much more to come....
With federal funds cut, California and SB County are going to have to make some “Sophie’s" choices.  Do we feed homebound elderly with Meals on Wheels or do we keep the Senior Center open?(Cuts are already being made to the Senior Center).  Do we hire more firemen or do we let Trump cut down our forests?
Have you seen Lake Arrowhead Village lately?  It is a disaster!  Tariffs are going to put many of the businesses that survive the remodel out of business.  What is the Chamber of commerce doing?  (Nothing...kissing Jay Obernolte's ego that's what!).
They thought they didn't get handouts.....they thought their American privilege made them immune...but now that their jobs, kids education, forests, Senior Center, Medicaid and 401Ks are on the chopping block they might see what their greed and privilege has bought them.

Soooo …..this is where YOU come in.....We need your experiences, we need your story, we need writers, we need leads.  Please contact us if you are interested in this project. Email MountainBearDemSecretary@gmail.com

1. We are a brand new organization focused on channeling millions of dollars into local races (Schoolboard / City Council, etc.) to fight back generations of Republican dominance

2. It has been shown that by having a comprehensive "down ballot strategy" where every local race is contentested, there is a 2-4% advantage for state and federal candidates.

3. We met with DNC Chair Ken Martin and our organization will be advising the DNC on how to do better at winning municipal races (School Boards / City Council races)

MEDICAID CUTS
California’s behemoth Medicaid program insures 14.9 million people, more than one-third of the state’s population. Republicans hold nine House seats in California and represent 2.5 million Medicaid enrollees. All nine voted to approve the House GOP budget bill at the end of February. Some of the state’s most conservative areas benefit disproportionately from Medicaid, including Rep Jay Obernolte’s dist. in San Bernardino County high desert where 48% of the population have Medicaid.

RAISE FOR THE RICH
The House voted on January 25 to pass a budget resolution that will provide the blueprint for a massive reconciliation bill. Democrats said the budget plan, passed by a 217-215 vote, cuts Medicaid to give billionaires a 4.5 Trillion $$ tax break. Calvert, Kim and Obernolte voted for the bill, while all House Democrats opposed it.
